It's not a job. It's a vocation.
“Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.” — Confucius
All aspiring trainers understand Tom Rose’s lifelong love for dogs — they are a vocation, a calling, a passion. The school he founded is the culmination of that passion, and our students and graduates share his dedication.
Over the past four decades, TRS graduated a major percentage of the foremost trainers in the world. Employers snap up our alumni. Those who start their own businesses succeed consistently.
One very successful graduate put it this way, “There is no other school with the experience and instructional track record of TRS. There is no other school that teaches many different training techniques, then encourages the student to choose the methods most comfortable for them."
Tom authored three major dog-training books. He won training competitions time after time with dogs he raised and trained. He pioneered and developed the celebrated Puppy Imprinting Program. He coined the phrase "imprinting" as it applies to dogs. He is first to import the Belgian Malinois breed to the United States.
Graduation from TRS depends upon successfully accomplishing industry-recognized objectives and requirements. The Tom Rose School curriculum is proven effective in meeting and exceeding those requirements.
Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience guide you to accomplish objectives that would take a talented trainer ten years to learn on their own. We have thousands of graduates to prove how effective our programs are. They operate successful companies around the world, are top-level employees, they operate/teach at other schools and win championship competitions worldwide.
When you compare TRS requirements for graduation, the qualifications and experience of the instructors and the time established in the industry it is clear why TRS is the only choice. It’s simple: if you want to be the best, learn from the best. If you have the desire, the passion, if you believe you have what it takes, applytoday.
A Message from a Visionary
Passionately working together, turning ordinary into extra-ordinary, TRS produced the world's leading dog professionals. Our graduates hire our graduates! Our alumni dominate the industry as successful pet trainers, kennel owners, police trainers, vocational school owners, and kennel managers. The list goes on and on. We are the oldest and most recognized school of our kind. TRS sets the standard. As one graduate said it, "TRS is the Harvard of dog trainer schools".
When you apply yourself and devote your time and energy, TRS will give you the education and training you deserve.
Many years ago a highly respected friend told me to choose a career that I love, learn everything there is to know and all else will come. Today I look back at my long career working with dogs and realize that as a professional dog trainer, exhibitor, judge, and teacher I have been blessed to earn a living doing what I enjoy.
It is gratifying to see my graduates achieve financial success, win competitions, write books, develop successful dog training schools, and head law enforcement K-9 units. I love teaching and nothing satisfies me more than seeing my students achieve their dreams. I sincerely want to see you live your dream.
